My May Favourites! | Lifestyle

Hi everyone! As we approach the end of May, I thought I would write about some of the products that I have been loving this month, ranging from food right through to clothes!

Starting with food, for those of you that are in the UK, I cannot recommend these Salted Caramel and Chocolate Hot Cross Buns enough! These ones are from Marks & Spencer, although many other retailers such as Tesco also do great ones that are just as tasty!

I first discovered these when I visited one of my best friends in London, and have literally been craving them since, so shoutout to you Rosie for taking me to Westfield and getting me hooked on these bad boys!

I have been enjoying these by toasting them so that the chocolate slowly melts in the middle, and for those of you with a super sweet tooth like me, they have also tasted great with Nutella on the top!

Now, I have still seen them in some M&S stores, but for the most part, these were released in line with Easter, so go and see if you can have a try of them before they all go and we have to wait until next year! But, as I say, many other retailers have been stocking similar items so just have a browse when you’re on your next food shop!

Why can’t salted caramel be a thing all year round?!

Whilst we are on the topic of food, I also visited a place in the Northern Quarter, Manchester called V-Rev, which is a Vegan diner in the city. Personally, I am not a vegan, but I was just curious as to how everything on the menu was! So, me and my best friend Tabie decided to try it out, and honestly.. it was stunning! You could hardly tell the difference, we tried the ‘Mac & Cheez’, ‘Chkn Tenders’, and the ‘Barbecute Without the E’ burger.. all of which were delightful! (and I also really want to find out what BBQ sauce they used because I have never tasted anything nicer!)

In true James and Tabie style, we completely forgot to take pictures of our food because we was so excited to eat and try it out, however, we will be posting our YouTube channel this weekend which includes our time at the diner!

Moving onto stationary, I have not been able to go anywhere without this new annual diary that I purchased from Paperchase. Alongside having the standard calendar (and looking great!), it allows you to put to paper any goals you have for that month, a priority to-do list, and also any reflections that you have for that certain month – Paperchase also offer student discount, so it is worth a look if you are wanting to get more organised for exam season or the summer!

Finally, I have bought some new clothes that I feel are well suited to the British weather, keeping you warm when they need to but also look great on a hot day due to the colours that they are!

I purchased this lemon Champion jumper at the start of the month, and have been living in it ever since! I got it from Urban Outfitters, but I’m sure stores like JD Sports and ASOS have a wide variety from what I could see. I got this in a medium which is normally the perfect fit for me, however, the sleeves are a bit looser to make the jumper look over-sized which I really like, so it might be worth bearing that in mind if you are after a similar jumper yourself!

Alongside the jumper, I also bought these cropped burgundy smart joggers from Topman that I thought would look great for summer, and could be paired with just about anything! These were £35 (even cheaper with student discount!) which I think is really good considering they are on-trend and can be worn throughout most of the year! The white and green striping down the side of the joggers bring the colour and make it very appropriate for the summer, as well as the fact they are cropped!
